Ruth St Fleur
Biography
After graduating with a BA in Public Health from Brown University, Ruth St Fleur went on to receive a PhD in Prevention Science and Community Health from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. St Fleur has a strong interest in using clustering methods to identify distinct psychosocial and behavioral phenotypes in individuals with obesity and/or cancer and using longitudinal modeling techniques to examine the pathways through which those phenotypes confer risks for adverse physical and mental health outcomes.
Currently, her work with Dr. Alison Field involves the use of latent class analysis to identify obesity subtypes in children and adolescents and assess whether the phenotypes identified are predictive of weight change and risk of developing hypertension during young adulthood or have a differential pattern of association with the obesity loci.
