
Ralph Welwean
Biography
Ralph Welwean is a fourth-year PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology at Brown University School of Public Health. He received a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Georgia. He is a self-motivated public health professional that possesses rigorous training in epidemiologic methods and valuable hands-on work experiences in public health at the local, state, and federal level. He has experience managing and maintaining various surveillance systems, performing quantitative & qualitative statistical data analysis, and interpreting scientific findings to inform program and policy change. His current research interests include substance-use epidemiology, tobacco control and prevention, chronic diseases, health disparities, and vaccine-preventable diseases.
