Department of Epidemiology

Tariz D. Viera Rojas is a second-year doctoral student in the Epidemiology program at Brown University. Prior to enrolling at Brown, Tariz was a Project Coordinator and Evaluator for Impactivo, LLC a Puerto Rican Health Consulting firm. There his duties focused on data analytics, technology development and community health needs assessments. Before this, Tariz also had experience in very competitive internships with the CDC and the National Cancer Institute at the Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Tariz holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Puerto Rico Humacao and a Master of Science in Health Systems Research and Evaluation from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus.
