- Spatial Epidemiology
Our researchers investigate how factors such as housing instability, nutrition, food insecurity and incarceration can lead to significant health disparities in underserved populations.
Our researchers also examine how social factors such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status can affect health outcomes. Using spatial epidemiology, researchers can map the distribution of health outcomes across different communities and identify areas of inequity.
By understanding these complex interactions, Brown faculty and students can work to support policies and interventions that promote health equity and address the root causes of health disparities.
