Medication Effectiveness

Researchers in this area evaluate the efficacy, safety and optimal utilization of drugs, biologics, vaccines, and medical devices.

In an era where health care advancements are revolutionizing the way we manage medical conditions, understanding how treatments work and their impact on the outcomes of patients has become an indispensable pursuit.

This field encompasses a wide array of critical research questions and projects. Our investigators focus on understanding both the intended and unintended effects of treatments. Most often, our investigators are performing novel linkages between real-world datasets, then applying causal inference and pharmacoepidemiologic methods to these new data resources to estimate the effects of treatments. In addition, they conduct clinical trials as a vital avenue to assess treatment effectiveness in more controlled settings, gathering crucial data on treatment effects across diverse populations.

By systematically investigating the benefits and risks associated with various drugs, biologics, vaccines, and medical devices, researchers strive to optimize treatment outcomes and enhance patient well-being.
